Özet
One of the most important tools that mediate the acceleration of globalization, basically means the cultural, social, economic and technological integration of societies, is the media with audio-visual field. Documentary cinema, is one of the tools to ensure inter-communal integration in the audio-visual field, enables the revealing of problems and pains while conveying the lives and cultures in different geographies of the world. In this respect, documentary cinema has the potential to announce many problems such as ethnic and religious conflicts, thirst, famine, hunger, war, refugees, migration to the world public opinion by crossing borders. Especially, information about what happened in the regions where the çivil war took place can be shared with the public thanks to the documentary cinema, claims to be neutral and authentic in essence. On the other hand, documenting a war accurately through documentaries and also ensuring that the whole world is informed is closely related to the documenter. Often, apart from a professional director, people caught in the middle of war can make their voices heard to the world through the emerging technology and globally used online platforms. In this study, these features of the documentary cinema is a tool of reaching out to people, conflict and finding a solution understanding and agreement, will be examined through the documentary For Sama (Al-Kateab, Watts, 2019), about the Syrian civil war.
