With in the context of historical documentary: perseverance of nation

Documentary, which has the ability to shed light on the past and bring it to the present, is closely linked to the science of history, one of the main elements that feeds on it. History documentary is the intersection point between the science of history, which records human communities and what these communities go through, and the documentary, deals with social experiences and events. History documentary, which is based on facts, brings the experiences to the present day by visualizing them from an objective perspective.History documentary, is a source of information about the past, transfers a certain section of history to the future, in other words, it memorializes it. The most important examples of historical science and documentary, which record the events of human communities, belong to war periods. War periods are one of the crisis periods that bind people together. The support given by the Turkish nation to the army in the struggle for independence is one of the most important examples of social integration in times of crisis.In the study, the documentary Milletin Azmi (Kurtuluş Özgen, 2022), prepared by the Turkish Historical Society for the 100th Anniversary of the Great Offensive, will be analyzed within the framework of the concept of history documentary and explanatory documentary. The documentary is an example of a historical documentary with the archive footage it uses and the text that progresses simultaneously with these images. By shedding light on the most difficult period of the Turkish Nation, it visualized the determination of the nation that had the biggest denominator in gaining independence and turned into a memory to be carried into the future.

Geçmişe ışık tutarak bugüne taşıma özelliğine sahip belgesel, beslendiği ana unsurlardan tarih bilimi ile yakından bağlantılıdır. İnsan topluluklarını ve bu toplulukların başından geçenleri kayıt altına alan tarih bilimi ve toplumsal açıdan yaşanmışlıkları ve yaşananları konu alan belgeselin yollarının kesiştiği nokta ise tarih belgeselidir. Temel dayanağı gerçekler olan tarih belgeseli, yaşanmışlıkları tarafsız bir bakış açısı ile görselleştirerek bugüne taşımaktadır. Geçmişe ilişkin bir bilgi kaynağı olan tarih belgeseli tarihin belli bir kesitini geleceğe de aktarmakta eş deyişle hafızalaştırmaktadır. İnsan topluluklarının başından geçen olayları kayıt altına alan tarih bilimi ve belgeselin en önemli örnekleri savaş dönemlerine aittir. Savaş dönemleri halkı birbirine bağlayan kriz dönemlerinden biridir. Türk halkının bağımsızlık mücadelesinde orduya verdiği destek kriz dönemlerinde sağlanan toplumsal bütünleşmenin en önemli örneklerinden biridir. Çalışmada Büyük Taarruz ’un 100. Yılı adına Türk Tarih Kurumu tarafından hazırlanan Milletin Azmi (Kurtuluş Özgen, 2022) belgeseli tarih belgeseli ve açıklayıcı belgesel kavramı çerçevesinde çözümlenecektir. Belgesel konu aldığı dönem, kullandığı arşiv görüntüleri, bu görüntülerle eş zamanlı ilerleyen metni ile tarihsel belgesel örneğidir. Belgesel aracılığı ile Türk Milletinin en zorlu dönemine ışık tutarak bağımsızlığın kazanılmasında en büyük paydaya sahip milletin azmi görselleştirilerek geleceğe taşınmak üzere hafızaya dönüşmüştür.
