dc.description.abstractBu tezde, sanatta mikroskobik görüntülerin dünyada ve Türkiye’deki yansımaları araştırılmıştır. Çalışmanın merkezine doğa ve sanat arasındaki etkileşimi alarak, bilim ve teknolojinin gelişimi ve modern biyolojiye etkisi; modern biyoloji ve teknolojinin de sanattaki yansımaları ortaya konmuştur. Bilim, sanat ve teknoloji arasındaki bu dinamik ağda yer alan karşılıklı etkileşimler, insanın varoluş serüveninin ve evreni anlama çabasının sanat aracılığıyla nasıl ele alındığı irdelenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, sanat-bilim ekseninde doğanın mikro boyutunun nasıl kavrandığı ve mikroskobun sağladığı yeni tekniklerin sanata nasıl yansıdığının araştırılmasıdır. Bu çalışma, sanat, teknik ve bilim arasındaki ilişkilerin ve etkileşimlerin belirli bir kavramsal çerçeve kapsamında incelendiği nitel bir yöntemin yanısıra, mikroskobik görüntülerle üretilen sanat eserlerinin izleyiciler üzerinde yarattığı etkiyi de röportajlar ve anket çalışmaları aracılığıyla irdeleyen nicel bir çalışmayı da barındırır. Sonuç olarak bu tez, sanatta mikroskobik görüntülerin dünyada ve coğrafyamızdaki yansımaları ekseninde, makro ve mikro kozmos arasındaki bağların, insanla doğa arasındaki ayrımın ve benzerliğin, nihayetinde de teknik gelişmelerin hem sanatta hem de bilimdeki yansımalarının incelendiği bir çalışmadır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis study is based on the influence of microscopic images in the art world both within Turkey and globally. The central focus of the thesis is the interaction of art and nature; the effects of the advancements in science and technology on modern biology and the effects of these technological developments on visual arts. The dynamic web of interactions between science, technology and art have been analysed in order to have a better understanding of the existential journey of humanity and our struggle to understand the universe. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the micro dimension of nature is conceptualized within the axis of art and science, and how th new techniques developed alongside the microscope are reflected in art. This thesis contains both a qualitative method which investigates the relations between science, technology and art within a particular conceptual framework, and a quantitative investigation as to the effects of works of art inspired by microscopic images upon the audience via questionnaires and interviews. As a whole, this thesis focuses on the relations between micro and macro-cosmic dimensions of the universe, as well as the difference and sameness of man and nature and the influence of technology both in science and in art via the investigation of the influence of microscopic images in the art world, both domestically and internationally.en_US
