Özet
Bu tezin temel amacı, Sanayi Devrimi'nin sonucunda değişen sanat algısını İngiltere ve Osmanlı Devleti örneği üzerinden değerlendirmektir. Bu tezde öncelikle Sanayi Devrimi öncesi sanat ve zanaat algısı ve ilişkileri sunulmuştur. Sanayi Devriminin kısaca tanımlanmasından sonra İngiltere'de Kraliçe Victoria Dönemi'nde Sanayi Devrimi sürecindeki yaşanan toplumsal değişimler ele alınmıştır. Sonraki bölümde İngiltere örneği üzerinden Sanayi Devrimi sonrasında sanat/zanaat alanlarında sanayileşmeden kaynaklanan problemler hakkında bilgi verilmektedir. Tezin devamında ortaya çıkan sorunlar ve değişimlere karşı çözüm getirmeye çalışan kişiler ve akımlar hakkında bilgi sunulmuştur. Ayrıca, tasarım/sanat/zanaat alanlarını sanayi ile yakınlaştırma çabalarına değinilmiştir. Daha sonraki bölümde Osmanlı Devleti'nin sanayileşme çabaları incelenmiş, Batılılaşma öncesi Osmanlı Devleti hakkında bilgi sunulmuş; ve 19. yüzyıldaki değişimler tartışılmıştır. Son olarak bir değerlendirme sunulmuştur.
The main purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the perception of arts and crafts after the Industrial Revolution by taking England and Ottoman Empire as examples. Initially, the perception of arts and crafts before The Industrial Revolution and their relation to each other has been presented. After giving some brief information about The Industrial Revolution, social changes during the development of the industry in England's Victorian Regime have been addressed. In the following section, some information is presented about problems that occurred in the fields of arts/crafts due to industrialization. Further more in to the thesis information is given about people and movements who were trying to bring in solutions to problems and changes. Also, efforts to bring together subjects such as design/ arts/crafts/ with industry are mentioned. In the next section, the Ottoman Empire's efforts for industrialization is discussed while giving information about periods before the Westernization of the Ottoman Empire, also changes during the 19th century are discussed. And lastly an evaluation section is presented.
