In this thesis, we study practices for Extreme Programming, which is a recent methodology of software development based on rapid application development with small teams who need to develop software in an environment of rapidly changing requirements.Three new practices were introduced namely, Issue-Based Programming, Comment-First Coding and Just-In-Time Code Ownership.Issue-based programming is a designing practice where issues determine priorities.Comment-first coding is a coding practice where coding of a module is separated into two phases;coding the semantics and coding the syntax.Just-in-time code ownership is another coding practice based on delaying code ownership until it is necessary. Extreme Programing is mentioned through its core practices and some extensions, which are currently in the literature. All core practices and the proposed ones are applied to Campus ON-LİNE, a large web based application development project and the experience is reported.
