Yayın Positive solutions for a sum-type singular fractional integro-differential equation with m-point boundary conditions(Politechnica University of Bucharest, 2017) Aydoğan, Seher Melike; Nazemi, Sayyedeh Zahra; Rezapour, ShahramWe study the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for a sum-type singular fractional integro-differential equation with m-point boundary condition. Also, we provide an example to illustrate our main result.Yayın Contributions of higher order terms to nonlinear waves in fluid-filled elastic tubes: strongly dispersive case(Pergamon-Elsevier Science, 2003-07) Demiray, HilmiIn the present work, employing the nonlinear equations of an incompressible, isotropic and elastic thin tube and the approximate equations of an incompressible inviscid fluid, and then utilizing the modified reductive perturbation technique presented by us [15] the amplitude modulation of weakly nonlinear waves is examined. It is shown that the first order term in the perturbation expansion is governed by a nonlinear Schrodinger equation and the second order term is governed by the linearized Schrodinger equation with a nonhomogeneous term. In the longwave limit a travelling wave type of solution to these equations are also given.Yayın “International conference on vibration problems” ICOVP-2007 and a short history(Springer Science and Business Media, LLC, 2008) İnan, Esin[No abstract available]Yayın Interactions of nonlinear acoustic waves in a fluid-filled elastic tube(Pergamon-Elsevier Science, 2001-03) Akgün, Güler; Demiray, HilmiIn the present work, the nonlinear interactions of two acoustical waves propagating in a fluid-filled elastic tube with different wave numbers, frequencies and group velocities are examined. Employing the multiple-scale expansion method, expanding the field quantities into asymptotic series of the smallness parameter and solving the resulting differential equations of various orders of the same parameter, we obtained two coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations. The nonlinear plane wave solutions to these equations are also given for some special cases.Yayın Standing waves for a generalized Davey-Stewartson system(IOP Publishing, 2006-10-27) Eden, Osman Alp; Erbay, SaadetIn this paper, we establish the existence of non-trivial solutions for a semi-linear elliptic partial differential equation with a non-local term. This result allows us to prove the existence of standing wave ( ground state) solutions for a generalized Davey-Stewartson system. A sharp upper bound is also obtained on the size of the initial values for which solutions exist globally.Yayın Generalized frames in the space of strong limit power functions(Springer Basel AG, 2013-02) Ünalmış Uzun, BanuBy using the existence of a larger orthonormal basis, the space of strong limit power functions is extended. We use the windowed Fourier transform and wavelet transform to analyze strong limit power signals and we construct generalized frame decompositions using the discretized versions of these transforms.Yayın Reductions of topologically massive gravity I: Hamiltonian analysis of second order degenerate Lagrangians(Amer Inst Physics, 2018-01) Uçgun, Filiz Çağatay; Esen, Oğul; Gümral, HasanWe present Skinner-Rusk and Hamiltonian formalisms of second order degenerate Clement and Sarioglu-Tekin Lagrangians. The Dirac-Bergmann constraint algorithm is employed to obtain Hamiltonian realizations of Lagrangian theories. The Gotay-Nester-Hinds algorithm is used to investigate Skinner-Rusk formalisms of these systems.Yayın An inverse source problem connected with thermoacoustic imaging in multi-layer planar medium(Springer, 2019-02-20) Yücel, Hazel; Ünalmış Uzun, BanuWe derived analytical forward and inverse solution of thermoacoustic wave equation for nonhomogeneous medium. We modelled the nonhomogeneous medium as a multi-layer planar medium and defined initial conditions, continuity conditions on the layer boundaries and radiation conditions at infinity assuming the source distribution existing in all layers. These solutions of thermoacoustic wave equation are based on the method of Green’s functions for layered planar media. For qualitative testing and comparison of the point-spread functions associated with the homogeneous and layered solutions, we performed numerical simulations. Our simulation results showed that the conventional inverse solution based on homogeneous medium assumption, as expected, produced incorrect locations of point sources, whereas our inverse solution involving the multi-layer planar medium produced point sources at the correct source locations. Also, we examined whether the performance of our layered inverse solution is sensitive to medium parameters used as priority information in the measured data. Our inverse solutions based on multi-layer planar media are applicable for cross-sectional two-dimensional imaging of abdominal structure and the organs such as breast and skin.Yayın A note on the amplitude modulation of symmetric regularized long-wave equation with quartic nonlinearity(Springer, 2012-12) Demiray, HilmiWe study the amplitude modulation of a symmetric regularized long-wave equation with quartic nonlinearity through the use of the reductive perturbation method by introducing a new set of slow variables. The nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation with seventh order nonlinearity is obtained as the evolution equation for the lowest order term in the perturbation expansion. It is also shown that the NLS equation with seventh order nonlinearity assumes an envelope type of solitary wave solution.Yayın Harmonic function for which the second dilatation is ?-spiral(Springer International Publishing AG, 2012) Aydoğan, Seher Melike; Duman, Emel Yavuz; Polatoğlu, Yaşar; Kahramaner, YaseminLet f = h + (g) over bar be a harmonic function in the unit disc . We will give some properties of f under the condition the second dilatation is alpha-spiral.
