Sınıflandırma için diferansiyel mahremiyete dayalı öznitelik seçimi
(Gazi Univ, Fac Engineering Architecture, 2018) Var, Esra; İnan, Ali

Cognitive cooperative MAC with one primary and two secondary users: achievable rates and optimal power control
(IEEE-INST Electrical Electronics Engineers Inc, 2014-11) Edemen, Çağatay; Kaya, Onur
We consider a three-user fading cognitive cooperative multiple access channel (MAC) with one primary and two secondary transmitters. We propose two encoding/decoding strategies with varying levels of cooperation, based on block Markov superposition encoding and backward decoding. The first is an overlay model, where the secondary users (SUs) aid the transmission of the primary user (PU) by causally decoding the PU message and forwarding it while also cooperating among each other. The second is an underlay model, where the SUs cooperate by decoding and forwarding each other's messages while treating the signal received from the PU as noise. In either case, the PU is guaranteed to operate at its maximum achievable single user rate. We characterize the achievable SU rate region for both models and maximize this region as a function of the transmit powers. The simulation results show that the SU rate region can be significantly enlarged, particularly using the overlay model.

Equilibrium and stability analysis of delayed neural networks under parameter uncertainties
(Elsevier Science Inc, 2012-02-15) Faydasıçok, Özlem; Arik, Sabri
This paper proposes new results for the existence, uniqueness and global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point for neural networks with multiple time delays under parameter uncertainties. By using Lyapunov stability theorem and applying homeomorphism mapping theorem, new delay-independent stability criteria are obtained. The obtained results are in terms of network parameters of the neural system only and therefore they can be easily checked. We also present some illustrative numerical examples to demonstrate that our result are new and improve corresponding results derived in the previous literature.

Generic BER analysis of VLC channels impaired by 3D user-mobility and imperfect CSI
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2021-07) Reddy Sekhar, K.; Miramirkhani, Farshad; Mitra, Rangeet; Turlapaty, Anish Chand
Visible light communications (VLC) has emerged as a high-speed, low-cost, and green supplement for the existing radio frequency (RF) based infrastructures. However, the performance of VLC based systems is found to degrade significantly due to detrimental outages caused by non-negligible variations in the VLC channel-gain, that are jointly induced by radial user-mobility and random photodetector-orientation (together designated as 3D mobility in this letter). In addition to the 3D user-mobility mentioned above, the performance of VLC based systems is further limited by imperfect channel-state information (CSI). Such degradations in the VLC-link caused by the aforementioned factors necessitate the quantification of performance-metrics for further benchmarking/receiver-design. In this work, an analytical expression for bit-error rate (BER) is derived for a single LED indoor VLC system considering the radial user-mobility, random receiver orientation, and imperfect CSI altogether. Further, the derived BER expressions are validated using computer-simulations using typical VLC channel models from the literature. A close agreement between the analytical and the simulated BER is observed, which verifies the accuracy of the presented analysis.

The economic lot-sizing problem with perishable items and consumption order preference
(Elsevier Science BV, 2015-08-01) Önal, Mehmet; Romeijn, H. Edwin; Sapra, Amar; Van den Heuvel, Wilco
We consider the economic lot-sizing problem with perishable items (ELS-PI), where each item has a deterministic expiration date. Although all items in stock are equivalent regardless of procurement or expiration date, we allow for an allocation mechanism that defines an order in which the items are allocated to the consumers. In particular, we consider the following allocation mechanisms: First Expiration, First Out (FEFO), Last Expiration, First Out (LEFO), First In, First Out (FIFO) and Last In, First Out (LIFO). We show that the ELS-PI can be solved in polynomial time under all four allocation mechanisms in case of no procurement capacities. This result still holds in case of time-invariant procurement capacities under the FIFO and LEFO allocation mechanisms, but the problem becomes NP-hard under the FEFO and LIFO allocation mechanisms.

Generalized frames in the space of strong limit power functions
(Springer Basel AG, 2013-02) Ünalmış Uzun, Banu
By using the existence of a larger orthonormal basis, the space of strong limit power functions is extended. We use the windowed Fourier transform and wavelet transform to analyze strong limit power signals and we construct generalized frame decompositions using the discretized versions of these transforms.

Effects of childhood trauma and clinical features on determining quality of life in patients with bipolar I disorder
(Elsevier Science BV, 2014-06-20) Erten, Evrim; Funda Uney, Aslı; Saatçioğlu, İbrahim Ömer; Özdemir, Armağan; Fıstıkçı, Nurhan; Çakmak, Duran
Background: We explored how childhood trauma (CHT) affects the clinical expression of disorder and quality of life in patients with bipolar I (BP I) disorder. Methods: Euthymic patients (n=116) who subsequently received a diagnosis of BP-I disorder were consecutively included and were interviewed using the following sociodemographic and clinical data forms; Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS), Childhood Abuse and Neglect Questionnaire (CANQ) and the 36 item Medical Outcome Study Short Form Health Survey (SF 36) The quality of life of BP-I patients with and without a history of CHT were examined. Results: The percentage of trauma was 61.2%. Patients who had CHT had higher frequencies of depressive episodes (t = -2.38, p=0.019), total episodes (t = -2.25, p=0.026), attempted suicide more often (chi(2)=18.12, p=0.003) and had lower scores on the pain subscale of Lhe SF 36 (z=-2.817, p=0.005). In patients with mixed or rapid-cycling episodes, SF-36 subscale scores except general health and pain were Found to be lower.Limitations: Our sample may fail to reflect the general BD population; the patients were included consecutively and consisted of a majority of female patients. Conclusions: CHT plays an important role in the clinical expression of BP-I disorder and having mixed/rapid-cycling episodes negatively affects both physical and mental components, as measured by the SF-36. While both males and females reported experiencing sexual abuse, female BP-I patients complained about pain more often. It is suggested that treatment of BP-1 patients with a history of CHT should differ from that provided for patients with no CHT history.

FCC-HH: The hadron collider: future circular collider conceptual design report volume 3
(Springer Heidelberg, 2019-07-01) Bayındır, Cihan; Abada, Asmaa; Abbrescia, Marcello; AbdusSalam, Shehu S.
In response to the 2013 Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics (EPPSU), the Future Circular Collider (FCC) study was launched as a world-wide international collaboration hosted by CERN. The FCC study covered an energy-frontier hadron collider (FCC-hh), a highest-luminosity high-energy lepton collider (FCC-ee), the corresponding 100km tunnel infrastructure, as well as the physics opportunities of these two colliders, and a high-energy LHC, based on FCC-hh technology. This document constitutes the third volume of the FCC Conceptual Design Report, devoted to the hadron collider FCC-hh. It summarizes the FCC-hh physics discovery opportunities, presents the FCC-hh accelerator design, performance reach, and staged operation plan, discusses the underlying technologies, the civil engineering and technical infrastructure, and also sketches a possible implementation. Combining ingredients from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the high-luminosity LHC upgrade and adding novel technologies and approaches, the FCC-hh design aims at significantly extending the energy frontier to 100TeV. Its unprecedented centre of-mass collision energy will make the FCC-hh a unique instrument to explore physics beyond the Standard Model, offering great direct sensitivity to new physics and discoveries.
