As a scenario, the mechanism of random conversion to sex, in the presence of a constant rate of mutation is examined. This scenario is very closely related to "coevolution of cell senescence and diploid sexual reproduction in unicellular organisms." In this work, a "senescence clock" ticks off a finite lifetime for each bit string. Sexual reproduction resets the senescence of clock; unless this happens after a number of generations of cloning, the offspring stop dividing and die.Yayın How do human resources practices affect the performance of the employees in Syria? It contributes to literature by expanding the understanding of HRM. It provides useful insights and ideas for improving the efficiency of HRM procedures in businesses. This study highlighted the need for the ICRC to prioritize and invest in strong human resource management practices. Primary data was collected from ICRC employees through survey questionnaire. Findings show that HRM practices have a significant direct impact on the motivation and performance of ICRC employees. Meanwhile, psychological safety mediates the relationship between employee's motivation and employee's performance. Wells' extraordinary dream world continue to captivate millions. While the limits of science today can be demarcated only through the human imagination, it was not all that different back in 1897, when this science fiction novel was first published. Wells' novel has in fact revived a subject that had been widely discussed in previous centuries which does perhaps fall under the shadow of alchemy. Much of what we know today that is possible through technology allegedly seemed to be conceivable primarily through alchemy or black magic before the positive leap forward in the sciences. Nevertheless, philosophers such as Sir Thomas More and Sir Francis Bacon may have raised the first serious concerns about science and ethics. The intersection of ethics and science is the core contact point, whereby the purpose and limits of science create a mutual entity. Especially recently, the ethics of science has been a topic of discussion following serious trepidations. The 'abode' of science in human life is undoubtedly undeniable. However, when massacres such as Hiroshima and Nagasaki are commemorated, it becomes necessary to reinvigorate the limits of science. As a matter of fact, "during the past decade, scientists, laypeople, and politicians have become increasingly aware of the importance of ethics in scientific research. Several trends have contributed to these growing concerns" (Resnik, 2005, p. 1). In that sense, this article purports to vigilantly explore the inevitable ramifications of science on man through the science fiction novel The Invisible Man and the ethics of science. In this paper, these loss factors are investigated and some simple metrics that capture the potential for buffer overflow and deadline violation losses under a traffic shaping scheme are introduced. Such metrics can be useful for the design of effective traffic shaping schemes that balance the adverse effects of buff-er overflow and deadline violation losses. Making a training budget is not so complex; but the important, yet often neglected, part of budgeting is the costs of absence of employees. In every kind of training, whether traditional or e-learning, there is a cost for the time being spent away from work. Some of the managers think that this is an idle time for company, plus the employee is paid during this period. This paper focuses on the costs of the absence and their effect on training budgets. Some scenarios were developed with the help of an HR manager of an international firm. Multisourcing has been advanced as a form of sourcing which addresses the deficiencies of other failed strategies. From the Telecommunication case, we found that the benefits of multisourcing IT infrastructure stem from an ability to lower IT costs, improve IT service levels and enabling access to specialist vendors for flexible capability. The costs and risks of IT multisourcing were addressed as the ongoing management of vendors and the underlying importance of a service management layer in organizations.Yayın Neural network steering control algorithm for autonomous ground vehicles having signal time delay(SAGE Publications Ltd, 2024-03) Dinçmen, ErkinAn adaptive neural network–based steering control algorithm is proposed for yaw rate tracking of autonomous ground vehicles with in-vehicle signal time delay. The control system consists of two neural networks: the observer neural network and the controller neural network. The observer neural network adapts itself to the system dynamics during the training phase. Once trained, the observer neural network cooperates with the controller neural network, which constantly adapts itself during the control task. In this way, an adaptive and intelligent control structure is proposed. Through simulation studies, it has been shown that while a proportional-integral-derivative type steering controller fails to perform its control task in case of steering signal delay, the proposed control algorithm manages to adapt itself according to the control problem and achieves reference yaw rate tracking. The robustness of the control algorithm according to the signal delay magnitude has been demonstrated by simulation studies. A rigorous Lyapunov stability analysis of the control algorithm is also presented.Yayın AnlamVer: Semantic model evaluation dataset for Turkish - word similarity and relatedness(Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL), 2018-08-26) Ercan, Gökhan; Yıldız, Olcay TanerIn this paper, we present AnlamVer, which is a semantic model evaluation dataset for Turkish designed to evaluate word similarity and word relatedness tasks while discriminating those two relations from each other. Our dataset consists of 500 word-pairs annotated by 12 human subjects, and each pair has two distinct scores for similarity and relatedness. Word-pairs are selected to enable the evaluation of distributional semantic models by multiple attributes of words and word-pair relations such as frequency, morphology, concreteness and relation types (e.g., synonymy, antonymy). Our aim is to provide insights to semantic model researchers by evaluating models in multiple attributes.
